This token of Southern Pride was know as the Wealth if the South token. It was made by a die maker based in Cincinnati Ohio named Benjamin True, made and sold in 1860-1861, marketed to those Southerners favoring Secession. The capture in 1861 of Fort McHenry and Donaldson by Union Forces ended the transporting of these coins to the South, but they arguably spread throughout the South and helped to encourage secession amongst Southerners as they were passed around. Choose to keep it as a Coin or have a hole added to wear as a Pendant or Fob. Gold Plated Pewter.
